The Humana Foundation, which seeks to improve community health and wellbeing through its support of non-profit partners, awarded over $90,000 in grant money to the LSU Health Foundation to the support School Based Health Intervention for Nutrition and Exercise (SHINE) program. This program provides individualized health coaching, nutrition classes, Fitbits and a school garden in hopes of preventing obesity and diabetes in local teens. Humana’s support made it possible to provide the program at no cost to the students, as well as free transportation.
