The LSU Health New Orleans School of Medicine will hold its annual White Coat Ceremony on Saturday, April 22, at 2:30 p.m. at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome Bienville Room. This year, 196 first-year LSU Health New Orleans medical students will receive white coats, a visible symbol of patient care. During the ceremony, students are “coated” by faculty members chosen by the class for their commitment to medical education and their students.
LSU Health partners with parents and family members to directly impact and enhance the daily student experience. We accomplish this through encouraging parent philanthropy, engaging donors through leadership councils and hosting events.
Each year parents and family members contribute to the student experience through annual and major gifts. Their support provides critical funding for student research, faculty recruitment and retention, innovative programming, enhanced learning facilities and access to state-of-the-art simulation laboratories. Parents and family members also support campus wide priorities by making gifts to endowments to support scholarships and university initiatives.
