The LSU Health Foundation invited students, faculty and the entire community to join us to sign the final beam for the new residences at LSU Health Sciences Center.
The final steel beam was installed to the building at the corner of S. Johnson and Perdido Streets after several members of campus and the Foundation added their signatures on December 17, 2021. See the video of this exciting event here.
Foundation President and CEO Matt Altier told the story of how LSU Health New Orleans and the LSU Health Foundation are working together to build a state-of-the-art student housing complex to serve the six schools at LSU Health New Orleans. The new residences are 100% funded, allowing for meaningful philanthropy that will directly support our students, faculty, and community.
The LSU Health Foundation, New Orleans, and LSU Health New Orleans broke ground Friday, November 13, 2020, on the new residences. The 579-bed, 324,371 square-foot modern housing facility will primarily serve the students of LSU Health New Orleans. This will be the first new student housing on LSU Health’s campus since 1967.
